Oxidizing Salt : Meproche MT341
Meproche MT 341 is a mixture of Nitrates and hydroxides of metals. It is so designed that it forms a eutectic mixture, thereby giving almost a constant melting point and has a working range of 200o to 470o
The salt is mainly used after nitrocarburizing/nitriding processes to provide corrosion resistance and deep black appearance.
Method of use :
Fill the pot with two/third height and let it melt under
heating. Slowly add fresh salt, by and by till a melted
column of salt is obtained of 3/4th height. Maintain the
required temperature (normally 400 to 440C.) The
quantity of salt has to be decided by quantity of job to
be put and hence the design of the bath/furnace has to
be decided.
